RSS stands for 'Really Simple Syndication' and allows
you to see when sites on the internet have added new
content.
To start using RSS feeds, you need a 'news reader'
which is a piece of software that checks RSS feeds and
lets you read any new items which have been added to
them. News readers can be either stand-alone software
or browser based which can be accessed from any computer
eg Yahoo, Newsgator or Bloglines.
RSS feeds allow you to collect news and features from
a variety of websites and display them in headline format
on one page.
