MEETING AT NORTON
CANON CHURCH
14th April 2005

Minutes agreed & matters
arising:
1. Church
Wardens – David would like to step down.
Kim and Howard volunteered and accepted.
- Sidesman – Kim proposed Gary and seconded by
Gill.
- Resignations – Jenny Lewis resigned from
PCC.
- New member – Geoff Jay would like to join
PCC.
- PCC members – existing members re-elected on
block.
- Accounts – see separate sheet. Gary proposed,
Kim seconded, unanimously voted to pass accounts.
- Banking - Julian enquired if banking could
be done on internet – will take it up with TSB.
- Independent examiner for accounts –
unanimously voted for Percy Fitzgerald.
- Signatories - Bob raised the fact that it
would be better to have two signatories on accounts. Kim Henderson and Reverend Robert King
were proposed by Julian and seconded by Vicky. Unanimous vote in favour.
- Bells
– newly appointed man for diocese checked bells. Awaiting report but Gary
informed us that he had said that they needed some work but could be
rung. This should override
previous letter condemning them (Roy Williams has a copy of this
report). It was decided that they
should not be used until new report comes for insurance purposes.
- Wendy Coomby – Bob asked is anything had
been received from her and was told that it had not.
- Churchyard – Gary finding work too much –
Bob suggested we discuss at next PCC meeting.
- Mr Jennings came from London to mow grass
and worked very hard.
- Service on Sunday 17th April - at Norton Canon church cancelled.
- Songs of praise - to be held at Norton Canon
on 22nd May at 6pm.
- Next PCC meeting - to be held 12th
May at Norton House School at 7.30pm.
