Hello from Tasmania. I attended St Peters & St Pauls
in Weobley all of my life, while living in the village. My
late parents, Mel and Joan Elton were married there on Bonfire
Day 1949 I was baptised there in 1950 I attended Sunday School
presided over by Miss Mabel Hope. Life in August/Sep of most
of my childhood years, was collecting fruit and vegetables
for the most divine Harvest Festivals possible:) All my paternal
Grandparents, aunts and uncles lie at rest in the graveyard. So
you can see my ties are very emotional. Thank you so much
for this website. God bless. Those who may remember me can
find me here www.waratahtasmania.com

Your site brought back a lot of great memories.I lived
in Weobley around 1940 and sang in your choir. I remember
walking 2 miles through orchards of "Devonshire Reds" past
a large manor house on the way to your local primary school.
Thank you for putting Weobley on the internet.

I have found your web site very interesting and with
the photographs have been able to see the churches my ancestors
worshiped in. My Gt.Grandfather Edward Probert was baptised
at Byford, and my Grandfather William Thomas Probert sang
in the choir at Norton Canon in the late 1800's. He was also
baptised there along with his brothers and sisters My Gt.Gt
Grandparents and Gt.Grandmother are buried in the churchyard.
I visited both churches earlier this year and found them very
peaceful.

I enjoyed looking at your websites. It was good to see
churches where my ancestors worshipped. My great, great, great,
grandfather William Fowler came from Weobley and may have
married Hester in St Peter and Paul's. Tony Fowler
