The Rev’d. Sean Semple, Group Vicar/Rector
Sean was born and raised in South Africa. He spent most of his life in and around Durban, and initially read Psychology at the University of Natal. This led to work as a therapist in a psychiatric unit. In recent years Sean trained as a clinical psychologist and has undertaken research into forms of spiritual pathology.
After reading Theology at the University of South Africa, Sean entered fulltime ministry in 1997, and was responsible for planting a new congregation in Margate, KwaZulu-Natal. He then moved to a parishes in Durban North, Hillcrest and Pinetown in KwaZulu-Natal, and then to Larnaca in Cyprus.
Sean has also worked at various times as a pastoral therapist in private practice and as a staff care provider for the Middle East and Eastern Europe Regional Office of World Vision. He served as the Regimental Chaplain to Durban Regiment for 7 years.
