Back in Church!

Following guidance from the government and the Church of England, we feel able to hold a service on our regular 4th Sunday and so we will be picking up the schedule with a 9am Morning Prayer, led by Rev’d Guy Wilkinson on Sunday 26th July.

We will be following all the guidance on social-distancing, hand sanitising and so on and our churchwardens will be there to welcome and advise on how the service will be managed.

And we look forward to seeing you there, even if we’re not aloud to sing just yet.

The church remains open at certain hours for private prayer and reflection and these are:

  • Wednesday 9am – 4pm
  • Sunday 9am – 4pm

With the news that churches can re-open for individual private prayer, Sarnesfield PCC is taking the first steps to providing this new freedom.  On Wednesday, and under strict Coronavirus guidelines, the first ’tidy up’ in the church will go ahead and on-site plans drawn up to establish how best to afford safe access for any who may wish to have a moment of private reflection and prayer.

We hope to re-open next weekend (20th June) and take this first, modest step along the path towards the time when we can all meet together again at St Mary’s.

Sarnesfield Inclusivity Statement – 01.2018

‘We believe in Inclusive Church – church which does not discriminate, on any level, on grounds of economic power, gender, mental health, physical ability, ethnicity, age, marital status or sexuality.

We believe in Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which follows an inclusive interpretation of scripture; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.’
