There were more than 30 seated in a friendly horseshoe formation in the spacious chancel area of Weobley Church, for the new venture of a Taizé-style service on Advent Sunday afternoon.
A singing group provided the range of musical textures which are a feature of Taizé music. The service featured the lighting and placing of candles, emphasising the Advent theme, and there was also a time during the music when anyone could go forward to kneel and receive prayer for physical healing or any aspect of wholeness.
The service was led by Revd Sean Semple with the assistance of Carole Page who has some years of experience of leading Taizé events in a previous parish.
Further occasional Taizé gatherings are under consideration for 2019.
