Staunton-on-Wye Coffee Morning 12th November 2016
On Saturday, the Staunton Village Hall was filled with the sound of friends catching up over a cuppa, bargains being bought from the stalls, raffle prizes being won – and the fabulous Staunton Community Choir entertaining all present with crowd pleasers like “Somewhere over the rainbow” and “As time goes by”.
The Weobley and Staunton Group of Parishes held a Remembrance Day Service at St Peter and St Paul’s, Weobley. Over 230 people attended a moving service where the Group Rector and Chaplain to the Weobley Branch of the Royal British Legion, the Rev’d Sean Semple, used a football on loan from the Imperial War Museum, to reflect on what had the power to unify, inspire and create a better future.
Some pictures (thanks to Kim Hendricksen) from the Induction Service of the Rev Sean Semple our new vicar on Wednesday 28th October. Bishop Richard led the service and preached and Archdeacon Paddy placed Sean in his stall and led him to the Church door as a symbol of being placed in charge of the church buildings.
